Zlatograd and Kavala

Program

FIRST DAY:
Departure from  Dobrich at 04:00 pm.

Departure from Varna and 05: 00h.

Arrival in Zlatograd. Short break and departure  Kavala, Greece. Sightseeing in the city - Aqueduct "Kamares" home of Mohammed Ali, the Byzantine fortress Imaret - building with unique architecture, now functioning as a 4 * hotel. Walk through the narrow streets of the old town with many souvenir shops. Accommodation. free time. Overnight.

DAY TWO:
Breakfast at 08: 00h. Free time in Kavala. Optional visit to the Museum of tobacco. Departure of Zlatograd. Sightseeing tour in Zlatograd and visit its attractions - Ethnographic Area Complex Zlatograd, Ethnographic Museum and workshops / demonstration /, the oldest church in the mountain "Assumption" - built in 1834 - according to tradition for 40 nights, old school, which is the oldest monument of the Renaissance Rhodopes "Zlatograd pismovnik" . Free time.

Departure from Zlatograd. Short tour in Haskovo. Visit to the Monument "Virgin Mary". The Sculpture is about 14 meters high and weighing 80 tons, stands on a 17-meter pedestal which represents a chapel inside. With this statue in 2004, the town was included in the "Religion" in the Guinness World Records as the highest statue of Mary in the world. Departure to Varna and Dobrich.
